“The Honeymoon”, an Italian co-production (Notorious Pictures) and United Kingdom (Tempo Productions), written and directed by Dean Craig (director of the Netflix hit “Love Wedding Repeat”) which stars Maria Bakalova, already nominated for an Oscar as best supporting actress for “Borat – subsequent movie film”, Pico Alexander (from the successful TV series “The Carrie Diaries” and “Blue Bloods”, among others), Asim Chaudhry and Lucas Bravo.

The story follows Adam (Pico Alexander), a young Englishman newlywed to Sarah (Maria Bakalova). Their perfect honeymoon could only take place in romantic Venice, but the newlyweds' dream is shattered by the intrusive presence of Adam's best friend Bav (played by the electrifying British star Asim Chaudhry), who turns the honeymoon into a nightmare for the couple.

Filming took place in September/October 2021, highlighting the most evocative and iconic locations in Venice, from the classic Piazza San Marco, the Grand Canal and the Bridge of Sighs, to the glimpses of Campo San Giovanni e Paolo, the island of San Giorgio and Campo San Vio, with the historical-artistic wonders of the Scuola Grande di San Rocco and the Benetto Marcello Conservatory, pushing into the province of Padua on the Euganean Hills in the splendid Villa Cavalli of Teolo.

The locations have been identified thanks to the support of the Veneto Film Commission, which supported the production during the preparation phase for filming, providing location scouting services, made available by the Department of Tourism through a dedicated fund. "The Honeymoon" will be distributed internationally, revealing not only the timeless charm of Venice, the symbol of honeymoons, but also the Padua province, rich in history and landscapes, still almost untouched by filmmaking and thus particularly fascinating.
