Two documentary projects featuring Venice have been selected at the Florence Archeofilm , International Film Festival of Archaeology, Art, Environment (March 1-5), both documentaries “The Gold of Venice” and “Submerged Landscapes: The Origins of Venice” were funded by the Veneto Region with funds from the POR FESR 2014-2020 Action 3.3.2. (2020 call for proposals).

“The Gold of Venice”, the documentary film, produced by SD Cinematografica, directed by Nicola Pittarello, tells the story of the relationship between the Republic of Venice and its possessions.
In the 16th and 17th centuries, the Serenissima expanded inland to obtain the wood needed to build warships to fight the Turks in the Battle of Lepanto.
Good land management practices are being implemented, along with a profound shift in mentality and environmental awareness to preserve forests and the ecosystem.
The documentary, screened on March 1, 2023, was financed by the Veneto Region with funds from the POR FESR 2014-2020 Action 3.3.2. (2020 call for proposals).
The documentary film “Submerged Panoramas: the origins of Venice” produced by Controcampo Produzioni, for the rSamuele Gottardello's philosophy and Diego Calaon's scientific consultancy was projected Sunday, March 5, 2023 at the Cinema La Compagnia, in the Sala Grande.

The documentary investigates the worlds and stories linked to the archaeological realities hidden in the Venice Lagoon.
From the pioneering research of Ernesto “Tito” Canal, at the end of the last century, up to the most recent interventions conducted by the Superintendency and the Ca' Foscari University of Venice.
This obstinate desire for research, for the reconstruction of scientific truths, is also a story of men and dreams.
This is the material used to build the film “Underwater Panoramas: The Origins of Venice”.
