CORTINA, FINAL SHOOTING FOR “CORTINA EXPRESS” WITH
CHRISTIAN DE SICA, LILLO PETROLO, ISABELLA FERRARI OUT DECEMBER 23
(Cortina d'Ampezzo, May 23, 2024)
Action, it's rolling: they wrap up tomorrow at Cortina d'Ampezzo, to then continue in Rome, the filming of “Cortina Express”, the new comedy film by Eros Puglielli with Christian De Sica, Lillo Petrolo, Isabella Ferrari, produced by Be Water Film in association with Medusa Film, in collaboration with Prime Video and with the support of Veneto Film Commission, due out in theaters on December 23, 2024.
The film was presented today in Cortina by the cast – Christian De Sica, Lillo Petrolo, Francesco Bruni – the director Eros Puglielli, the producers Mattia Guerri (Be Water), Giampaolo Letta (Medusa), the mayor of Cortina Gianluca Lorenzi, the director of the Veneto Film Commission Jacopo Chessa.
Six weeks of filming took place between the pearl of the Dolomites—a regular location for film productions—and Rome, set during the Christmas holidays, for a hilarious comedy that exposes the vices and virtues of the contemporary world.
The locations in Cortina and the Ampezzo area used for the scenes, with the local support of Cortina IN, are Passo Falzarego / Col Gallina, a private home in Crignes, Corso Italia, Hotel Cortina, the Bredo boutique, Caffè Royal, Bar Sport, Ampezzan Fiori.
“Once again the Pearl of the Dolomites becomes the ideal set for a film – he declares Luigi Bacialli, president of the Veneto Film Commission Foundation – thanks to a production that acts as a driving force for the local economy and tourism. Cortina Express it is the portrait of a society that has changed a lot in recent years, with its merits and its defects, and that this iconic film captures and describes with extraordinary irony and realism.".
“Cortina Express it's a wonderful opportunity for the area – he underlines Jacopo Chessa, director of the Veneto Film Commission – both in terms of promotion, thanks to the presence of big names in a comedy that will be widely distributed, and for the significant impact a production of this kind has on the Veneto region. For this commitment, I thank Be Water and Medusa, confident that the collaboration and the choice of our region as a location will last a long time.”.
In “Cortina Express”, During Christmas, the streets and slopes of Cortina are filled with a diverse cast of characters, gathered among the enchanting snow-capped Ampezzo mountains for fun, but not only. Among them, we meet Lucio De Roberti, an irresistible bon vivant trying to save his nephew from a disastrous marriage; Dino Doni, a faded music star searching for redemption and, above all, the love of his daughter; and Patrizia Giordano, a fiery record producer facing the threat of bankruptcy and a somewhat indolent husband. Along with them, many other characters, each unwittingly linked to the fate of others in hilarious situations, search for their own happy endings.
