The shooting of the film has started these days ASTREA, of the director Davide Manuli, a cult figure of contemporary auteur cinema, who returns behind the camera years after his last film The Legend of Kaspar Hauser.
Shot entirely on film, ASTREA is a surreal walk-movie, inspired by the dystopian and cult atmospheres of 1970s science fiction films, where the future is not made of technology, but of suggestions, symbols and metaphysical landscapes.
Made by Italian Dugong Films, known for exploring new forms of cinematic expression, is made with the contribution of the MiC, from the Veneto Region – PR FESR of Veneto 2021-2027, with the support of the Veneto Film Commission and in Emilia-Romagna Region through the Emilia-Romagna Film Commission.
The two female protagonists shine in the cast Aomi Muyock (Astrea) and Agnes Claisse (Athena), together with Silvia Calderoni, Thomas Ragno, Federica Fracassi, Antonio Bannò.
The photograph is signed by Massimiliano Kuveiller, the costumes from Andrea Cavalletto. The music techno, the original soundtrack of the film, is signed by the producer Fabio Sisti aka Product.
Filming will continue for four weeks, in the evocative, lunar landscapes of the Po Delta, on the border between Veneto and Emilia-Romagna, and conclude in the Reggio Emilia Apennines, near the Triassic Gypsum of the Upper Secchia Valley.
