Presentation

The Castelvecchio complex is a majestic and well-structured brick building, built in 1354 by Cangrande II della Scala, and it consists of two parts divided by a crenellated bridge. In the early 20th century, it underwent a radical restoration that transformed the complex into a Civic Museum; it was later sorted out in order to house a picture gallery as a result of architect Carlo Scarpa?s restoration in years 1957-1964.
