Presentation

At the mouth of the Tagliamento River, the landscape is break-taking with its dunes, pine trees, the beach and its old lighthouse. Biodiversity is the true richness of this place, which can be easily reached along a dirt road rich in vegetation or from the beach directly. You will find tree species typical of mountain landscapes like black pine, oak, Erica carnea and Germanic broom, brought here thabks to the river current. Right alongside the golden lily, gladiolus, stemless gentian, primula and typical swamp plants like Parnassia. The various species of orchids are truly special: the green-winged Orchid, the mottled one, the Common Twayblade, the Red Helleborine, the Cephalanthera and the Violet Limodore. You will also see hedgehogs, small rodents and birds: herons, the grey heron and the famous Black-winged Stilt
