Presentation

The Gradenigo Garden has a fascinating romantic appearance in Venice. Adjacent to the homonymous Palace overlooking the Rio Marin, it extends for 600m and is characterised by a large green lawn. A spectacular Sophora japonica pendula stands out in the middle of it like a green fountain. A large pergola with a white wisteria frames the background mirroring a raised pergola of muscat grapes towards the Rio. Two gravel paths border the lawn's sides and English flower beds composed of perennial plants, roses, hydrangeas, irises and hibiscus. Beyond a large gate, a long driveway leads to two seventeenth-century sculptures on high pedestals. The protagonist of Il Fuoco, alias D?Annunzio, sets some love scenes here with Foscarina, Eleonora Duse's alter ego.
