Presentation

If you want to see what the north-east coast of Italy would be like if man had not intervened, visit Bibione's Mediterranean Garden. The project, part of the Italy-Slovenia cross-border co-operation program (2007-2013), required a good deal of territorial redevelopment and valorization by introducing typical dune and dunal environment habitat plant species. This was followed by the creation of information tables set up on the spot to make the visit more interesting. The visit shows you uncontaminated landscape and exceptional flora including fleur-de-lis, orchids and various types of gentian. Amongst holm oaks, back pines and the thick undergrowth it is easy to see great tits, turtle-doves, blackcaps or larks without forgetting migratory birds whose south-bound flocks colour the sky in September.
