Lago di Alleghe

It was formed in the night of January 11th, 1771, by a rockslide that stopped the course of the torrent Cordevole, which submerged a portion of valley floor and some villages. According to a legend, on silent nights you can hear the toll of the bell towers on its bed. It is surrounded by the majestic peaks of Civetta and Marmolada groups mirroring in its waters, which are light blue on sunny days, grey-green on cloudy days, and sometimes even frozen. Undoubtedly, it is one of the most suggestive places in the Agordino area. You can walk all along its perimeter, admire it from the surrounding slopes, or paddle across it with rowing boats and pedal boats, in the company of swans and mallards. The picturesque village of Alleghe, on its shores, provides you with everything you need, from accommodation to rental.
