Presentation

This old city gate was erected on the main Roman cardo, called cardo maximus, in the 1st Century A.D. At the time of its building, the Gate was 13 metres high, a square plant with an internal courtyard, double barrel-vaults (only one of them remains, oriented to the City) on Gate façades and galleries in the upper floors. Today the Gate is partially visible, englobed in the masonry of a 13th Century building.
