Presentation

The first section of the street follows the Roman Decumanus trail, whereas the second section has been opened after Gian Galeazzo Visconti ordered the demolition of some palaces. In the Middle Ages the street was known as Via Nuova, and was pavementless; it was arranged and paved in the early 19th century, and it is where one of the most outstanding examples of the Veronese Neoclassicism, the loggia Arvedi, looks on to. Many classy fashion shops line up all along Via Mazzini which is the top-shopping street today.
