Presentation

The name “Sottoriva” refers to the street location, namely beside the river bank. Indeed, the street skirts the river Adige bank where once were numerous water mills. On one side, it is flanked by a gloomy, low arcade that runs all along its length, still giving the street its typical Medieval appearance. The casa Monselice (Monselice house), dating to the 13th-14th century, is noteworthy with its 15th century ogival single-light windows, two large Roman mullioned two-light windows, and two small coupled columns.
