Villa da Schio

Castles, villas, palaces

A few kilometres from Vicenza, in a town with an ancient farming culture, is Villa da Schio. It is a seventeenth-century architectural complex, consisting of the monumental part liked to the agricultural side, surrounded by a magnificent colonnade. The family manages the venue since its origins, and today offers this seventeenth-century residence with large halls and original furnishings. There are kitchens with antique copper tools and a private chapel where you can admire ancient sacred furnishings. The villa is surrounded by a park characterised by wide avenues and a pleasant area known as "romantic" because in summer it offers a path sheltered from the sun, among century-old plants and hedges. You can walk among statues telling mythological stories, hedges, roses and the ancient pool, called "peschiera".
