Pordenone Docs Fest and Trento Film Festival, in collaboration with Euganea Film Festival and the Film Commissions and audiovisual funds of the Triveneto region, present a new consultancy and support laboratory project for medium and feature-length documentaries in the final stages of production in the North-East.
Pordenone Docs Fest and Trento Film Festival, in collaboration with Euganea Film Festival and the Film Commission he audiovisual funds of the Triveneto, present a new consultancy and support laboratory project aimed at medium-length and feature-length documentaries in the final stages of production, produced in the North-East. A journey through Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto, through the partner festivals, to make the expertise of selected experts available to directors and producers in an informal context, in a series of meetings and workshops aimed at expressing the maximum potential from film in progress: from directing to editing, from post-production to finalization, from festivals to distribution.
The project is aimed at works in the process of being assembled, documentary and hybrid (non-fictional), produced in the regions Trentino-Alto Adige, Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and of expected final duration exceeding 45 minutes. Among the candidates sent following the call, the commission composed of representatives of the 3 partner festivals will choose 4 projects, who will undertake a feedback and tutoring path, with the aim of consolidating the film's dramaturgy and broadening its dissemination and distribution prospects.
The path of accompaniment is divided into 3 stages, each one is focused on specific areas and activities, and takes place in the context of one of the 3 festival:
Stage I – Pordenone Docs Fest / The Voices of Documentary – March 29/April 2, 2023
Feedback Intensive program with private viewing, evaluation, and discussion of the full rough cut or individual pre-edited scenes (in this case, with a maximum duration of 60 minutes), with an exclusive panel of 4 established tutors, in the presence of the film's producer and director(s) (and, if applicable, the editor).
Stage II – Trento Film Festival – April 28–May 7, 2023
Pitch reserved for a select audience of producers, buyers, distributors, exhibitors, and representatives of festivals, broadcasters and platforms, with the screening of a selection of scenes from the film (for a maximum overall duration of 30') and a moderated presentation, followed by individual meetings between the teams and professionals present.
Stage III – Euganea Film Festival – June 21st/July 2nd 2023
Workshop The program is organized in two phases. The first will feature presentations by experts in promotion, distribution, marketing, communications, and festivals for all films and their teams. The second phase will include specific work, consulting, and planning sessions for each project (lasting up to 90 minutes).
SELECTION
The participation to the selection is free, at the time of registration the following are requested materials:
- Synopsis (maximum 1000 characters including spaces)
- Treatment and presentation of themes and characters (maximum 5000 characters including spaces)
- Director's Notes
- Production notes and preliminary financial plan (with an indication of confirmed and unconfirmed financing)
- Trailer/teaser of the project if available
- Selection of downloadable sequences or rough cuts of the work (minimum duration 30', maximum 90')
- Director's bio-filmography and preview links to previous works
- CVs of the professionals and collaborators involved
- Timetable
The project can be in different stages of post-production, but in order to make the support process more effective, it is recommended to participate with films in initial assembly phase.

As part of Nord/Est/Doc/Camp films are considered to be in the making and screenings/presentations they are not open to the public; therefore they do not constitute participation in the festival program, and do not count towards the release date and premiere of the work.
CONDITIONS
The participation fee expected for each selected project is 500 €.
Following receipt of the invoice, the cost must be paid by the beginning of the first stage of Nord/Est/Doc/Camp.
Contributions may be available according to the conditions decided by the individual Film Commissions and Funds involved; the opportunity will be communicated to participants based on their territory of origin.
The director(s) and at least one representative of the production, plus possibly the film editor, must be available to participate in all 3 stages and activities envisaged within the scope of Nord/Est/Doc/Camp.
Project representatives are responsible for the delivery of materials necessary for screenings and presentations within the expected and communicated deadlines.
No project can be withdrawn from the program after the selection announcement.
The expenses travel and any overnight stay costs are the responsibility of the participants. festival partners They provide food and access to any networking events, and are available to assist with any hotel reservations.
The projects selected for Nord/Est/Doc/Camp will be required to enter on the communication and promotional materials of the film and among the opening credits a sign with the words “This film participated in Nord/Est/Doc/Camp” followed by the year of the project's edition, and the relevant logo provided.
