A man wanders through the Alpine woods. He lives in a former World War I fort. He seems to have a mission to fulfill: he is the last agent of a secret society that, over the years, has prevented humanity's mad race to destroy itself. Vivid visions of a nuclear holocaust looming on the horizon accompany his wanderings. His enemies are no longer so easily identifiable; the loss of certainties, of a clear division of the world between black and white, makes him waver. Now the bomb has become his obsession, his torment, and his sole reason for living.

Andrea Pennacchi directed by Renzo Carbonera, plays “Chief” Carling, a US officer hiding in the woods of the Alps.
