The Kinéo Cultural Association was founded in early 2002 with the aim of promoting Italian cinema at a time of serious crisis for the industry and in conjunction with the enactment of new Delegated Decrees supplementing the Cinema Law.
This mission led her to create an award, the Kinéo Prize (diamonds for Italian cinema), capable of giving a voice to moviegoers, crucial to the survival of the industry, of the exhibition and, therefore, to the very life of cinema.
The Kinéo Award was presented for the first time at the 59th Venice International Film Festival on September 1, 2002, and on that occasion began to address crucial issues of specific periods, such as the relationship between Cinema and Industry in the international conference “Cinema in the Business World.”.
The following year, again in Venice during the Film Festival, Kinéo brought together the greatest experts in international film promotion and marketing in the conference “Cinema, Marketing and New Media”, in collaboration with advertising agencies, investors, media centers and the major players in the institutions and industry of the sector.
This year, the Kinéo Award celebrates its 20th anniversary in Venice and its 19th year of awarding. Born as an Italian film award voted by the public to support Italian cinema and theaters, over the years it has broadened its horizons, opening up to the international audiovisual sector, fostering encounters between artists from around the world. It has established two awards that reflect the film industry's commitment to environmental protection and civil and human rights: the Green&Blue Award and the Movie for Humanity Award. It has worked internationally on promotion, collaborating, for example, on the week of events for the Honorary Award to Lina Wertmüller at the Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles, and has continued to explore themes of cinema and audiovisual art. Also in Venice, in 2020, Kinéo promoted the seminar on the present and future of the audiovisual industry with the seminar “How a Video Can Change the World” and this year it will address the theme of digitalization in the future of the industry with the seminar “Challenging the Digital Deluge”

MME – Movie Making Experience is a high-level training course dedicated to the art of short filmmaking. Eight full-time days in which selected participants, grouped into teams based on their skills (direction, screenwriting, acting), will create a short film from concept to production. The entire experience will take place as a competition, in which educational activities will be complemented by an internal contest among the participating teams. The short films produced will be screened and voted on during the final awards ceremony and then presented to the selection committees of MME's partners. The theoretical and practical courses in acting, directing, and screenwriting will use professional equipment and will be taught by teachers and professionals from the world of theater and film. The entire course will take place at the Francesco Fabbri Foundation in Pieve di Soligo, Treviso. MME is an opportunity to study, work, and network with professionals, giving participants the opportunity to experience the "set tribe." Has the relationship between humans and the environment changed? Has the pandemic accelerated awareness of this relationship? The 2021 edition of the contest proposes "Intimacy and Margin" as its theme, inviting participants to explore whether and how the way we inhabit and think about space has changed as individual spheres of action shrink and take on new forms. Space, the environment, both inside and outside of us. Intimacy and margin. What are we missing? What do we feel deprived of? What have we learned to appreciate? Has the environmental emergency that has been screaming in our faces for years been addressed with awareness? In an environment where nature predominates (Pieve di Soligo and its surroundings – Treviso), we will tell stories by connecting with our surroundings.

Veneto Film Commission adopts the Green Film protocol
By: Veneto Film Commission
Speakers: Jacopo Chessa Director of the Veneto Film Commission, Luca Ferrario Head of Trentino Film Commission, Richard Guolo Director of Innovation and Development Area, Arpa Veneto
Moderator: Luigi Bacialli President of the Veneto Film Commission
Since 2019, T-Green Film, developed by the Trentino Film Commission, has evolved into a tool that can also be used in other territorial contexts, becoming a Green Film.
A tool designed for film funds, film commissions, broadcasters, or other organizations that want to encourage film and TV series producers to work in an environmentally friendly manner. This tool guides producers to work more sustainably.
A brand that certifies environmental sustainability for audiovisual productions. A network of organizations working in coordination to implement strategies and tools for sustainable cinema and to jointly deliver training activities.
Production companies filming a film or TV series in Trentino, or in recognized Italian and European regions, can adopt the Green Film guidelines, which guide them toward a more sustainable approach to their business. The practices listed in the guidelines optimize energy consumption and transportation, manage material selection, catering, and waste management, and communicate sustainability.
An external body, usually the Provincial or Regional Agency for Environmental Protection and Prevention, will verify the production phases and ensure compliance with the measures. If the film obtains certification, the delegated body (film commission) will confirm an additional contribution to reward environmental protection.
Since 2021, the Veneto Film Commission has decided to adopt Green Film, a protocol also recognized by the Veneto Region in assigning points for access to the production support fund.
