Wednesday, August 31st the start is underway 79th Venice International Film Festival and, as always, the events organised by are back too Veneto Film Commission and Veneto Region.
The program of meetings is very rich which will be held in the usual space inside the historic Hotel Excelsior, a few steps from the Palazzo del Cinema.
The Veneto Film Commission and Veneto Region Space at the Venice International Film Festival represents an opportunity for meeting and reflection for those in the Veneto region who work in the cinema sector, both from the perspective cultural as much as that productive.
A space where they find visibility and have the opportunity to interact Production companies, industry professionals, cultural associations of the local area and beyond. The Film Festival is, in fact, an international showcase that welcomes film professionals and enthusiasts from all over the world.
The statements
President of the Veneto Region:
The Regional Space at the Venice International Film Festival represents an opportunity for encounter and reflection for those in Veneto involved in film, both culturally and productively. This year, as in previous editions, the Region is committed to offering a calendar of initiatives that showcase the vibrancy of the Seventh Art in Veneto, a veritable universe animated by cultural associations and comprised of film production companies and industry professionals recognized for their unrivaled expertise. This international showcase, in addition to highlighting the region's unique characteristics, also serves as a true cultural incubator, simultaneously fostering our Region's celebrated vocation as a "muse" for the great masters of the past, thanks to its landscapes, countless cities, and artistic villages, as well as its countless artistic influences.
Councillor for Territory, Culture, Security, and Sport, Veneto Region:
The Veneto Region's participation in the 79th Venice International Film Festival further demonstrates the commitment of the Regional Council and the Department of Culture, in particular, to promoting the scenic and artistic beauty of a region that has always been an ideal setting. The Venice Film Festival represents a unique opportunity to showcase and raise international awareness of the Veneto region's cinematic expertise and potential.
Luigi Bacialli, President of the Veneto Film Commission:
This is the Veneto Film Commission's third visit to the Venice Film Festival. It's been three years of intense activity by the Board of Directors, Director Jacopo Chessa, and his team, in close and constant collaboration with the Veneto Region. The 79th edition marks a true restart, and once again, it's in the Veneto Region/Veneto Film Commission space that we'll be able to report on the results achieved, while also ensuring visibility and exposure for those participating in VFC panels and conferences. Productions have arrived and more are on the way, from our provinces, no longer just the big cities or traditional locations dotted with sets, with actors, directors, screenwriters, and technicians who will increasingly be professionally trained here in the coming years.
A widespread, self-sustaining cinema hub: this is the goal of the Veneto Film Commission. But the Venice Film Festival and the Excelsior are not just a showcase of the fruits of their labor, but also, and above all, a hub for contact and interaction with all those working in the film and audiovisual sector in Veneto, a catalyst for relationships, synergies, and knowledge that the Veneto Film Commission is determined to strengthen.
Jacopo Chessa, Director of the Veneto Film Commission
The Venice Film Festival is the key event for those of us who work in the region,” comments Director Jacopo Chessa, “the moment to shine a spotlight on the Veneto region. This year, the program is particularly rich and encompasses the entire audiovisual industry, from artisans to new technologies, from writing to landscape. See you at the Lido!”
