Thessaloniki will host the second on-site workshop of the European project Green SCAP<\/strong> (Green Skills for Cinema and Audiovisual Production), which will be held from March 9-11, 2026<\/strong> at the New Congress Centre of\u00a0Region of Central Macedonia<\/strong>. The program is implemented under Erasmus+ and aims to develop \u201cgreen\u201d skills for audiovisual industry professionals across Europe.
In Greece, the workshop is co-organized by Film Office Central Macedonia<\/strong> and from Hellenic Film Commission\/Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center<\/strong>, which actively contribute to the training of professionals in defining new sustainable standards in film and audiovisual production. The organizational baton is being passed from Italy, where the first workshop was held, to Greece.<\/p>

The second Green SCAP on-site workshop, supported by the\u2019Agora in the 28th Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival<\/strong>, marks a key milestone in the project's implementation. It will focus on connecting Greek professionals with the contemporary challenges of sustainable film production and green production best practices.
Through simulations, the 12 selected professionals from Greece, Italy and Spain will collaborate on the creation of sustainable audiovisual projects, analyzing every stage of the production process \u2013 from pre-production to the completion of filming \u2013 through the lens of environmental responsibility.<\/p>

Agora Talk on Sustainability: From Vision to Reality<\/strong>
On the occasion of the workshop, an information event will be held within the Agora Talks section, entitled:
\u201cFrom Vision to Reality: Unleashing the Superpower of Sustainability in Film Production.\u201d.
The event will take place on Wednesday, March 10, 2026 (5:00-6:00 PM) at the Municipal Music Center of Thessaloniki, will be held in English and is aimed exclusively at accredited Agora professionals.
The central theme of the discussion is the collaboration between the film producer and the sustainability manager on set, highlighting the role of environmental strategy as both a creative and productive tool.
The trainers of the 2nd Green SCAP workshop and the speakers\/moderators of the Agora Talk are:
\u2022 Julia Tordai<\/strong>, sustainability consultant, founder and CEO of Green Eyes Productions
\u2022 Serena Alfieri<\/strong>, film producer
\u2022 Linnea Merzagora<\/strong>, coordinator of the European Green Film \/ Trentino Film Commission network<\/p>

The 2nd Green SCAP workshop in Thessaloniki will feature guest trainers from prominent Greek audiovisual professionals:
\u2022 Danae Spathara<\/strong> (Heretic), film producer
\u2022 Giannis Sotiropoulos<\/strong> (LocationHound), location manager
\u2022 Panagiotis Salapatas<\/strong>, director of photography, professor at the Department of Film of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and member of the Greek Society of Cinematographers.<\/strong>
Even the newborn Greek Society of Location and Unit Department<\/strong> collaborates with the Thessaloniki initiative.<\/p>

European synergies for sustainability<\/strong>
On the occasion of Green SCAP, a networking event will be held in Thessaloniki between two European projects in the field of sustainability implemented by Region of Central Macedonia<\/strong>:
\u2022 Green SCAP (Green Skills for Cinema & Audiovisual Productions, Erasmus+)
\u2022 MINEV (Waste Management in Large Events, Interreg Europe)
The networking event will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2026, at 8:00 PM, at the Museum of Photography in Thessaloniki. Its aim is to foster knowledge, networking, and the exchange of best practices between the two project partners, strengthening interregional dialogue and cooperation for the green transition.<\/p>

The Green SCAP program is implemented under Erasmus+ and co-financed by the European Union. The main partner is the Veneto Film Commission<\/strong> (Italy), in collaboration with the Film Office-Central Macedonia <\/strong>(Greece), the Hellenic Film Commission<\/strong> of the\u00a0Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center<\/strong> (Greece) and the Mediterranean Creative Hub of Mallorca<\/strong> (Spain), under the scientific supervision of the network a Green Film<\/strong>.<\/p>

In Central Macedonia, the European project GREEN SCAP is implemented in collaboration with the Film Office Central Macedonia, the Directorate of Tourism, and the Department of European Programs and Synergies of the Directorate for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support of the Region of Central Macedonia.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
